Product Description – Oil Painting on Linen painted during the lockdown period. Currently, a period of new work, exploring a different style than my usual style of painting.
There is no reference for the piece as I started by making marks with charcoal and developed the image over a few weeks. This painting has references to the sea and sails I felt an affinity with this work. The softness of the linen substrate gives an atmospheric finish.
I have never been sailing myself but always lived by the sea.
Memories and dreams are peculiar things with no definitive shape or size but a feeling. As in a dream, the understanding of the image came during the making the work.
I created it in March 2020. In this new range of work, spontaneity is my aim and allowing myself to paint as I feel at a particular moment. I capture this moment over time. The persistent adjustment gives energy and lifeforce to the finished work.
If you like the style of this painting, or any others on my shop, please join my email list or direct message me on the Messenger link. One advantage to challenging myself to expand my portfolio is that confidence grows and I satisfy a broader range of customers.
I have worked with several people on commissions and can promise a commitment to completing the work in a timely fashion with your input along the way.
